It was a short ride to Lake, Fairfax. When we got there it was a little bit cloudy, we set up a tent for the night. The night was nice and conformable. In the morning we took a little hike to a soccer field and ate breakfast. Then we went back to the campsite and had good conversations. A few moments later we took a hike to the lake. The lake was beautiful, there were a lot of swans and ducks around the lake.
The past weekend we went to Sky Meadows State Park which is about an hour away from were we meet for troop meetings. The views there were breath taking. The First thing we had to do was hike a mile to get to our campsite. The next thing we did when got there was set ups our tents. After eating lunch we went on a 5 mile hike that went past 2 great views and went on the Appalachian Trail. On the Appalachian Trail we met many people and lots of those people had dogs, with the recent rain and then very nice weather it was no wonder that they were out hiking just like we were. When we got back we filtered water from the stream running right past our campsite. The dinner was delicious but we didn’t have the proper amount of food so the scouts had the prepared food and the adults some freeze dried food that another parent brought just in case. In the morning we ate a quick meal of pop tarts and oat meal. Soon after we packed up our stuff, walked the mile back to the cars and then went home.

P.S. Happy Pi Day.
We had a great court of honor with many rank advancements and merit badges. Our Master of Ceremonies did great and the audience of family and friends was the best to be seen in a while.
We are working on the Citizenship in the Nation Merit Badge.
Tonight we will work on lashing. And also we will talk about our first aid kit fundraiser. Another thing is that we will talk about our plan for Sterling-fest, which means bring a notepad and pencil.
It took 3 hours until we arrived at Pocahontas State Park. It was beautiful. We got our tents set up and we talked for a little bit. It was so hot we did not use our sleeping bag
Our scoutmaster got the grub master up at 5:30 he got everybody else up at 6:00.
We ate pancakes for breakfast at 7:00. We clean up at 8:30 and we left for the waking tour.
On the walking tour we talked about land marks and special places. Did you know that a grave yard has been covered 3 times – crazy huh? The tour ended at the capitol.
After we were done with the tour we got some food at Dairy Queen. We were hungry!
Then we went to the capitol and we went underground to the bottom of the capitol. We had one tour Guide. We went up stars and we saw a bunch of things. We saw George Washington’s statue.
After the tour we took some pictures on the capitol steps.
When we woke up in the morning we left, but as we were leaving I heard a pop and it was the brake line. It took a while until we got it fixed. Everybody made it home safe
Tonight we look at the website. Later we might do more knots.
The trip to Burke Lake Park was a great trip. We canoed the majority of the time except for the snack time with Mr. Johnson. Thanks for the tasty snacks Mr. Johnson. Although we did not catch any fish it was still a successful fishing trip. The weather couldn’t have been better. The “Bird Island” was very interesting. Too bad we couldn’t stick around and explore longer.
